about the font & me:
i originally started this project during a logo design session but then i realized it gave a “saas” ahh font vibes. so i thought it would be cool if i make it an actual font. the name arkyixl itself doesn’t have any meaning. it’s just some gibberish i chose because the letter heights show the ascending/descending rhythm and simply visually pleasing.
my design idea is to make a sleek and techy font because i love tech aesthetics, but it’s really easy to “over design” a tech font and make it too geeky (think the font on rog laptops). so my first priority is to keep the decorative elements minimal while maintaining my personal voice in this design.
arkyixl is my first font design and it’s not meant to be perfect. designing one is way harder than i originally thought. i’ve spent so much time figuring out the perfect workflow for converting it into an actual usable font. my goal is to host it on google fonts for everybody to use. so if you notice any inconsistencies or you have any suggestions for improvement, please let me know! i’d be happy to hear and learn from you.
